Revenue soars as O’Hare’s International Terminal 5 achieves record sales

One year after unveiling of $26 million transformation by Westfield, sales up more than 69%, jobs nearly doubled since redevelopment began

One year after the unveiling of the new International Terminal 5 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport – a $26 million transformation by Westfield featuring a reconfigured environment, bold new design including a new, more efficient TSA checkpoint, and 24 new sophisticated dining and retail destinations – sales are reaching record highs, up more than 69% since redevelopment began in 2011, according to recent city data. In 2014, total sales exceeded $43 million, generating approximately $6.5 million in revenue for the City of Chicago, more than double 2010 revenue, the last year prior to the start of the terminal’s redevelopment.
