Construction begins on expanded post-security duty free
As the Terminal 5 redevelopment of the concessions program continues, Westfield has started construction of a post-security duty-free store.
Scheduled to open in August 2012, the new space will provide waiting travelers with greatly expanded shopping options near their gates.
To further enhance the traveler experience during the redevelopment phase, Westfield has also completed other post-security enhancements.
Travelers have already experienced upgrades to the inline news and gift, duty-free and food and beverage options. The complete redevelopment will relocate the TSA checkpoint to open up prime concessions space airside and provide travelers with a world-class shopping and dining experience. Previously, 95% of the terminal’s dining and retail options were located pre-security.
